I created your final design based on our conversation and feedback. The chaise sectional you see on your shopping list is the one you and your husband liked best. I selected a textured, high performance fabric in a greige color, and an ottoman from the same vendor in the same fabric.
You will notice that most of the selections are neutral greige color, and I used pale blue color as an accent only. I tied in enough of blue to create a peaceful, serene, and comfortable space.
Behind the sofa, you will notice a long sofa table with drawers, a round end table next to sectional, and a rug. For the plan, I used a 9x12 size rug. If you don't like the size or think it may interfere with walking, an 8x10 will work, but I think proportionally and visually, larger is better for the space.
You will also notice I removed the stone from the upper fireplace area. I think this makes the space look very clean and modern.
Since the area between your (proposed) added counter top and edge of sofa is very tight, I designed a new counter top shape that I think will work better for your space. If you take a look at the floor plan, I started the angle of the new counter top at the existing line, and created a diagonal line to expand the bar area. This corner being as is will give you more space to move between the bar and sofa. I also added a new table with a waterfall edge on the opposite side of the bar, but you can also use standard 'table' legs so that you can fit more seating at the end of the counter. I really think this solves a big problem, and it still provides you with comfortable seating.
On your shopping list, you will notice a few different options for c-tables. I selected silver finish because your existing built in window seats have a silver legs, and a wooden top table should you decide to reuse your existing live edge counter for your new mantle.
And finally, I am adding quite a few pillow options to your shopping list, and a few decorative pieces.
